Turq was started by Susan Jaffe and Susan White to combat the chafing that their sons and husbands got from wearing boardshorts all day both in and out of the water. While their original focus was on surfing and post-surf wear, the briefs can be worn for any water sport from the ocean to the pool.
TURQ SWIMBRIEFS

I wore theses Turq Swimbriefs under my boardshorts while surfing, and then continued to wear them afterwards to see how comfortable they would be out of the water. The first thing that shocked me was how soft the microfiber material was, and how much it stretched. They fit true to size and stretch accordingly. The second and most impressive thing about these shorts, is how comfortable they are to wear in the water. The briefs did not bunch up or feel uncomfortable. They are thin, seamless, and the minimal stitching (waistband and bottoms) will not cause any chaffing or rubbing. In fact, after a few mins in the water I forgot that I was wearing them and they were comfortable the entire time.
After surfing I noticed they dried quicker than normal nylon compression shorts but still took a little longer than I expected, but this will vary depending on air temperature of course. I felt like they were more comfortable to wear in the water than out, only because I noticed I actually had them on once I started walking around in them. If I had to do light to moderate exercise after surfing (walking, hiking, frisbee, etc.), I would choose to wear the Turqs all day. However, if I had to play beach volleyball or do a more serious workout, I would probably change into a thicker, more sports oriented compression short.
Pros: Extremely comfortable, seamless, can be worn under anything, lots of colors
Cons: None really, some people may prefer a true compression short for dry land sports after getting out of the water.
