JORDAN - Creator and Founder
We started this site when there were too many choices of good boardshorts. When I was looking for a new pair I couldn't find any websites that reviewed different shorts all in one place, so I decided to review every pair I had by myself. After the new shorts stopped coming out, the site became a blog about the surf and action sports industry. Whether it's new products, company information, or just cool videos, we try to post the most interesting news every few days.
I was born in New York City a week before the infamous summer blackout of July 1977, and was on the beach in Ocean City, NJ a month later. That's right, just 1 month old and I was on the beach. My family moved to Long Island when I was 2 years old and I spent every summer at the beach. I progressed from rafts, to body boards, and eventually started surfing consistently in high school. After receiving my MBA from NYU Stern in 2009 I began looking for a way to combine my love of surfing and fitness with my creative marketing ideas. That's why I created this website.
You don't need to be a pro to review shorts, or write about the latest products. You just need to love surfing and sharing your experiences. I've surfed in every state in the Northeast, as well as Florida, Puerto Rico, California, Hawaii, and Thailand. If you read something you disagree with or want to share a comment, then feel free to send me an email at [email protected], I welcome all opinions and thoughts.

My name is Ray, a.k.a. the Sack (get your mind out of the gutter, it's not what you think). A 30 something year old Queens boy who is now a Long Beach, NY local… Laurelton Blvd baby. I’m a novice surfer but I love riding my longboard and funshape. When the waves are flat I’m taking photos, working on my camera, kayaking, swimming, stand up paddling, and raising money for a worthy cause, swimming with the Long Beach Polar Bears Club for the Make A Wish Foundation. Yep swimming in January and February (no wetsuit), all in the name of charity. So my reviews will be not only summer but how shorts can also hold up in the winter, assuming I don't freeze before writing my reviews.
I’m a frugal guy and don’t like wasting money. That’s why I’m happy to be a part of the Boardshort Report. I’m here to give honest reviews and take honest photos. There will be no photoshopping or airbrushing of our photos! I'm a leisurely guy, so I'll also be reviewing some of the latest hybrid shorts and other gear I like to wear out of the water during my leisure time. If you would like to contact me, send me an email at [email protected].
