Hurley has launched some of the most unique and innovative designs in the past decade. Surfboard shaper Bob Hurley started his own clothing brand in 1999 after leaving Billabong USA. Hurley's block color patterns are easily recognizable, with many of their shorts coming in cubic, primary color patterns. Their shorts are made from Phantom fabric named either 60 or 120, each representing the percentage of stretch the shorts have. Hurley's top of the line 4D shorts have a patented waist band design which is made from Nike Flywire fabric. (Nike bought Hurley in 2002, but Hurley still remains autonomous).
HURLEY PHANTOM 60 GALAXY

These got there initial testing last fall before the water temperatures dropped. Not only were they very lightweight and comfortable, they dry extremely fast. They also have a unique dual inner seam which helps prevent any chaffing. A solid piece of fabric is all that makes contact with your inner thighs, and there is one seam towards the front and another towards the back holding it all together. The only minor complaint is that wax sticks to is the cool silver threading around the fly. The reinforced stitching around all seams was perfect along with the drawstring. The only thing that may be an issue is, like many fast drying boardshorts, these shorts also have a cling factor. So you may have to be prepared when getting out of the water to pull them down and give them a quick flap of the fabric. They took about 5 minutes to dry off on the beach, no towel required. The shorts are a little flashy with the silver "H" and "Phantom" written on the shorts.I can see it possibly peeling off after multiple wearings. At around $65 these area great deal.
